The sixth guest expert participating in this book study is… (drum-roll please)
Rebecca Schlafer Nealy!
Rebecca is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics (Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Health) at the University of Minnesota. She received her PhD (2010) in child psychology from the Institute of Child Development and MPH in Maternal and Child Health (2016) at the University of Minnesota. Prior to coming to Minnesota, she received her Masters and Bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Most of Rebecca’s research focuses on understanding the developmental outcomes of children and families with multiple risk factors. She is particularly interested in children with parents in prison, as well as the programs and policies that impact families affected by incarceration. In addition to her academic work, she also volunteers as a guardian ad litem.
Rebecca will be leading our dialogue on Mar. 9th, 2017, regarding chapter 6 of Sara Langworthy’s book Bridging the Relationship Gap: Connecting with Children Facing Adversity.
